Texas DWI Laws

Texas DWI Laws

Texas DWI laws cover all aspects of the offenses of, and penalties for driving under the influence or driving while intoxicated. DUI/DWI offenses are the most serious of motor vehicle violations, and the penalties are severe. Many factors can affect how a person is affected by alcohol and legal or illegal drugs. It’s best not to ever take a chance driving when the possibility of impairment exists.

Individuals who experience the consequences of driving while intoxicated discover that Texas DWI laws call for strict penalties. People are hurt or killed in car accidents every day by drunk drivers who believe they are still able to get behind the wheel without any problems occurring. We strongly encourage all Texas drivers to think ahead and make arrangements for a designated driver when needed, to avoid unnecessary tragedies.

Texas DUI Insurance

Texas DUI Insurance

Texas DUI insurance is an SR22 certificate endorsed to an auto insurance or a non-owner insurance policy. DUI insurance is required to reinstate your license after an alcohol or drug related motor vehicle violation. The certificate guarantees that you will carry the required minimum liability insurance at all times. Texas SR22 insurance is available to vehicle owners and to people who don’t own a vehicle.

If your license is suspended after an alcohol-related motor vehicle offense, you’ll have to purchase Texas DUI insurance for license reinstatement. Texas has stiff penalties for driving under the influence. Consequences include jail time, fines and driver’s license suspension. If you’re pulled over and tested with a blood alcohol content (BAC) level of 0.08% or higher, you will be charged with drunk driving. For commercial drivers and drivers under the age of 21, the blood alcohol content for a DUI charge is 0.04% or greater.
